First of a popular series by the Israeli composer and pianist Daniel Galay, the Klezmer Tunes have been called "crossover music" because both klezmer and classical musicians will feel at home performing them. The klezmer musician may prefer to do without the composed accompaniment, and work from the chords on the lead sheet. Piano can be replaced with accordion, and other instruments can be added. Truly flexible music.
Galay appears frequently as a klezmer performer and clinician in Israel, Europe, North and South America.
Recently recorded by Michele Gingras on the CD Klassical Klezmer.
