An methodical collection of 24 early piano sonatas by Haydn, with special emphasis on fingering. The fingering in the book is the result of experienced work by the author. Its purpose is to demonstrate phrase interpretation with maximum clarity, lucidity, and simplicity. The chief trait of this collection is a specific view on note representation. Some fingering ideas in the book are unique, and grew from the sonatas' text. Since the book is meant to be studied chronologically, the fingerings given are more detailed in the beginning of the book, and gradually are scaled back. This is an urtext edition, and the musical text has been verified with many early ediitions.
