Shmuel (Mula) Sajevich
Kaleidoscope - Israel Fusion and Ethnic Tunes

Inspired by klezmer great Giora Fiedman, Mula Sajevich has devoted the past few years to the composition of hundreds of instrumental tunes reflecting his deep Jewish roots, his experience of forty years in Israel, and the myriad cultures of the country. His tunes have a special innocence, simplicity and charm, and help to connect us to his inner voice and soul. If you are a solo performer or play in a band, this book will be a valued addition to your repertoire.

The composer:
Born in Kovno, Lithuania, Shmuel (Mula) Sajevich was an outstanding talent even as a young boy. When he was twelve, he accompanied a national folklore troupe of 1000 dancers. After his bar mitzvah a year later, he became a permanent orchestral member of the city's Jewish Ensemble, a group he later directed in addition to four other pop and rhythm groups. At the age of eighteen, he began to teach accordion at the Municipal High School of Music in Kovno.
1971 marked Mula's arrival in Israel. He played with the Giora Goodik Theatre, and while there, was among the founders of the internationally known Jewish folk troupe We Are Here. Since 2006, Mula Sajevich has been a permanent staff member at the seminar "Clarinet and Klezmer in the Galilee" founded and led by maestro Giora Feidman, and has performed often at the Klezmer Festival in Safed. His music has been performed and recorded by Giora Fiedman and other artists.
