Israeli drummer Nir Nakav's Battle Hymns is meant for drummers who want to improve their skills and learn more about drumming and its history. The book includes a unique breakdown of 89 rudiments, a history of Western drumming and over 80 famous drum beatings and original RudiMental solos. Nir Nakav has been obsessed with drums for over 35 years. He graduated the Tel Aviv Youth Orchestra when he as 18 and was the drummer of the first IDF Jazz ensemble during his military service. Nir completed his studies at the Musician's Institute, Hollywood in 1995. Best known for his work with Israel's premier metal act, Salem, with whom he released 5 albums and 2 live DVD's, Nir has been featured on dozens of rock and metal albums, played countless countless shows all over the world and has been a columnist for Sick Drummer Magazine. He is currently teaching at the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and the music department of Alon High School for the Arts.
